How much lost or how little lost and how much time since surgery
I would like to know how much weight people have lost or have not lost and when everyone had their surgery dates. I'm in the process of deciding what surgery would best suit me. I really want lap band but everytime I hear a "horror" story I sway. My surgeon also thinks that the lap band is the right choice for me. I guess I want to see what everyone has to say.
My surgery was February 17th of this year. So I'm just 7 months out and I'm down 66lbs since my actual surgery date. I also have no fills in my band. There is nothing I can't eat but with that said I still limit certain foods such as breads, sweets, etc. I excercise about 4 times per week.
I love my band and we work great together.
Good luck with whatever you choose and remember, NO WLS is 100%. They all have their pros and cons.

I had my surgery on 11/22/10 so my one year anniversary is coming up yeah !!! I have lost 64 pounds and have done this without any fills . This was the only surgery I would ever consider having and if something happens to the band I will not have another surgery done . Its a one and done deal for me .
I have really stalled on my weight loss for a good two months now and its my fault. I am eating foods that I stayed away from the first six months and plus I got extremely lazy in exercise . I was doing Zumba four to five days a week and now I'm just doing one . I have to pay for a next set of classes for five weeks so I will be doing it two days a week again. I will feel guilty spending that money and not going so it will help me in the long run .
I'm happy with my weight loss though. My goal is to hit 75 pounds by my one yr anniversary that is only about 10 pounds.
That will give me 75 pounds off, I quit smoking which my anniversary date for that will be Oct 8Th , I have lost over 30 inches, and I have went down a size in clothes and shoes. I can not ask more for that . Even though I have had trouble the last two months I have not gained weight and for that alone I am very thankful for my band. Without my band I would be back over 300 pounds and I'm not I'm staying right around 285.
I just need to get my ass back into the same mode when I had my surgery and I will start losing again . :o)
Good Luck with your decision .

When I had my lap band, I lost about 65 lbs in the first year. Then I had complications and spent the next couple of years gaining all of that back.
I had my band removed and revised to the sleeve in December 2010 and I've lost 114 since my sleeve.
How much are you hoping to lose?
Best of luck,
Lindsey

Hi! I've had my band since June 21, 2010. I've loss 80 lbs!!! I know I couldn't have done it on my own. I've tried too many times; losing only to gain it back. I must admit I had to get an unfill this summer because I was too tight and gained 17.5 lbs back. It was my fault!!! I could have gone back sooner to get my fill, but I "enjoyed" the weeks I as able to eat anything and everything with no limit; new band but old mindset. I got my fill again two weeks ago and I'm back down 10 lbs already!!! I am SOOOOO grateful for my band!!!
