soreness

is it unusual to be sore in the area above the port ?  sometimes it feels like something ha**** me or bruised me  in the area where the port is then it goes away.

I understand it is one of the slowest areas to heal because muscles are involved where there are stitches.  So the answer is that it is not unusual.

I was wondering about the same time.  My surgeon also said it was "normai", but I would l love to see what others have to say.
