Never Be Satisfied

I am nearing the end of my 3 month doctor's supervised diet before I start the 3 week liquid diet. I feel like once the liquid diet starts I will see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am really looking forward to the surgery and getting on with the new process. I am following the rules set by my dietician and personal trainer so I feel like I am building a good foundation for later. I really hated working out, but today I turned a corner. I felt completely alive on the treadmill and increased my speed and intensity. I walked longer and included weight training today. It was a great feeling. I am so tired of being this vibrant, happy person trapped under all this excess weight. I want to do so many things but have been limited by my size. My surgeon and his staff say they expect great results for me because of the positive attitude going into it. If I can say anything to anyone that makes any kind of difference is that a Never Be Satisfied attitude should be employed. Never Be Satisfied and it will propel you to go do your best and continue improving every day. I have learned a lot about how much hard work goes into preparing for the surgery and the hard work and restrictions that follow. Anyone who thinks that this is the "easy way out" is delusional. I have seen some haters make comments to others on this site and elsewhere and just remember...dont feed the trolls.

You are doing the right thing starting with the exercise before .I believe that makes such a difference rthis is certainly not the easy way but we will get there and you are smart to start the exercise before I believe that makes success easier to obtain .Good Luck on your journey!!!

Thank you. I have a daughter who doesn't let me off for anything. She is tough, but she is a great motivator. I have so many goals in mind and getting the extra weight off is going to make it so much easier.

It's great you hit that spot while on the treadmill- there really is a point when you turn the corner with excercise and say "Wait a minute, I can go longer, I can go faster!"  It's awesome to realize there's an athlete in you- in all of us!  Keep up the great work on yourself!

i agree with you there, i hate when people say its the easy way out?!?!?!?! when this has been the hardest thing ever, i have not had any real food in me for over two week on the liquid diet, eventhough i had my surgery a week ago i do think its easier now because 3 ounces in and im full for hrs, but before surgery liquid diet is intense u are angry because ur hungry all the time. you have to shut ur stomach off and keep a positive mindset on the future... wish you tons of luck on your journey, be strong and pray!! God makes everything better :)

I tell you, I am a bit nervous about the liquid diet. My surgeon has his patients on the liquid regimine for 3 weeks. I know it is going to be mostly psychological. As it is, I drink my breakfast and sometimes lunch in the form of low fat, high protein smoothies. But, making all three meals liquid is going to be tough. I appreciate your good wishes and luck and send them back to you. Thank you and take care, Jenni
