Hi all!
There are 3 of us sick in the house with classic stomach flu. Last night I had the whole dry heaving thing going on. Should I be concerned that my band slipped?

Hi Jen...So sorry you are down wit the flu...I hardly ever get sick but when I had the flu, I was miserable. I hope you feel better soon.  I looked up "illness" on p.497 of Jean's Bandwagon book. I hope she doesn't mind if I quote her book here:

"Illness can affect your restriction, and some symptoms of common illnesses like intestinal flu and upper respiratory infections can both mimic and aggravate band symptoms. For example, vomiting, abdominal pain and nausea could be related to intestinal flu, especially if accompanied by diarrhea, fever and headache. Chest pain, shoulder pain and abdominal pain could be related to the band, or it could be caused by pleurisy ( a lung inflammation). Rather than try to diagnose yourself, call your primary care physician."

I have nothing to add except Godspeed your healing.
