Band to Band or Band to Sleeve

Hi Everyone, Okay now I would like to hear about your personal stories regarding band to band or band to sleeve. Need to make a change and not sure which way to go. Thanks for all of your help.

I have a leak in my Realize band and was thinking about getting the Lap-Band but now thinking about the sleeve. Just wanted to know who has been rebanded and who has the band removed due to a leak and now considering the sleeve.

i will be band to sleeve on 10.26 - the thought of another band was never a consideration....don't know your story however.

If I could afford it I would revise to VSG. Everyone I know that have revised from band to VSG are MUCH happier with VSG. You could not pay me to get another band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with Maria I'd revise to a sleeve in a heartbeat if I could afford it. Besides rebanding is rarely successful because of scar tissue where the original band was. It is almost impossible to regain restriciton like you had before. You would be far bettter off going with the sleeve. Good luck!

I'm not sure you would notice much difference between the Lapband and the Realize band.

May I ask why you can't just get the leak repaired! I did and have had no problem since. Leak repairs are usually fairly straightforward.

Good question.  I didnt know you could just get teh leak repaired.  How is that done?  The Dr. just said to me that I will need the band replaced and I didnt know to ask if the leak could be fixed.  Thank you.

 I had to have my band removed b/c of a slip, there was too much scar tissue for them to be able to place another band safely (I went under thinking I was going to wake up with a new band), so I revised to the sleeve and it has been amazing so far. I am only 8 weeks out, but very happy with my weight loss, restriction and loss of hunger!

I revised from the band to the sleeve and I love my sleeve!

I was having a lot of trouble with my band where my restriction would randomly vary...one day I would be able to eat everything under the sun just like I could pre-op and then the next day I would get random tightening and get stuck on everything. I would never know what I would be able to get down. So, I didn't exactly have a leak.

Anyway, I love my sleeve, it feels and works great, and I am very thankful for it.
