Well on the 15th I finished my 6th month of Dr supervised diet. On the 20th I completed my nutrition and psyche eval.  On the 21st I faxed the last remaining papers to the Surgeons office, this morning i get a call from the surgeons off letting me know they got my fax and they have all i need to submit to insurance and how she has already gotten it together and already submitted it. I think I nearly had a heart attack just knowing that its submitted bc its scarry how close it is and how this may really happen this time around.  I am so nervous and excited and happy and much much more......

Hurray for the progress! This is an exciting time for you, I hope you hear quickly. If for some reason you aren't approved this time be sure to appeal right away. Sometimes they like to play games/. You will be having your surgery soon. Good luck.

I remember the scary feeling of waiting for approval. It feels like forever, b ut once it happens it seems everything goes really fast after that. I will keep my fingers crossed for you !
Good Luck!

Welcome!

You will probably now get some replies telling you to think again!

The posters will be people who have genuinely had bad experiences and want to forewarn you!

So here is a forewarning from someone who loves the band and has had it for well over 5 years.

This is an implanted device and can cause problems. As can any surgery

Loss is slower than other surgeries. We don't malabsorb and still have all our insides to use food.

Loss may be less than other surgeries as we can eat round the band. But no surgery allows you to eat everything!

You have to change your lifestyle. As do people with all types of wls.

You have to take responsibility for your body. As with any surgery or weight loss programme.

Your band may not be with you for ever. But my feeling is my band has given me back my life. If I lost it tomorrow I would not regret having had it

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Kate, I completely understand, I'm not worried about what others may say I've wanted this for many years now and no the good the bad and the ugly that may or may not happen. I've been on thus board for so long I remember before the grad board was created and how great this site use to be lol. but thank you for your feedback.
