Approval process for lapband revision to VSG.....UHC choice plus

Hi everyone,

I am posting for a friend who had the lapband about 5 years ago. She is having nothing but problems and I talked to her today about consulting with another surgeon. Does anyone know what the chances are of her being approved through UHC choice plus insurance. She is slowly gaining the weight back and her doctor just says things like, goodluck finding another surgeon or lets see what happens this month. Anyway, I told her I was going to get on here tonight and do a little research. If I am posting in the wrong forum, please let me know.

It depends on her particular policy whether it is covered. I have the exact same insurance but mine has an exclusion. The only thing she can do is contact them and see if they cover that particular surgery. I wish her good luck and tell her she is far from the only one with band problems! She did nothing wrong it is just a lousy product!

you may want to post on the vsg forum ... i have seen losts of post where folks have gone from lapband to vsg revision.. good luck..
