Hello fellow banders!!  Hope everyone is having a great evening!

I was wondering, do you guys and gals eat breakfast?  I'm not hungry 5 out of the 7 mornings of the week?  1-2 cups of coffee are all I feel that I need?  The PA I see for my fills says that if I'm not hungry don't eat.  I was just wondering what you all do??  I don't eat anymore durning the day, when I don't eat breakfast, then on the days that I do eat breakfast??

thanks all

I have never been a breakfast person, but I do eat breakfast now. The reason I do is that it was explained by the RN at my husband's Drs. office that handles all of the diabetic patients there, that it is best not to go long periods of time w/o eating. You have gone all night w/o eating, and if you skip breakfast, your liver picks up on the drop in blood sugar level and starts dumping sugar and elevates the blood sugar level. I hope I explained that correctly. Anyway from her explaination, it seem it is healthier to eat at regular intervals rather than skip meals. Hope that helps.

Your welcome.

I do yogurt with  granola occasionally on mornings. My breakfasts usually consist of protein bar or oatmeal.

One other thing I make every couple of wks. is ricottage pancakes. They are high in protein and lower carb. I just double this recipe and have it for 3 days. I eat it for lunch and dinner also.

I like breakfast. But not always a big breakfast.  Often an egg and a slice of turkey bacon, or a turkey sausage link.  My egg is usually soft cooked because my band doesn't like rubbery scrambled eggs, even though I do.  Sometimes I eat a baby bell light, or a vanilla greek or Activia yogurt with a few blueberries and walnuts or almonds.  When I don't eat breakfast and just drink coffee, I'm starving before 10 o'clock.

When I was tighter, I couldn't keep anything solid down until lunch time. I had a protien shake, worked well. I would make sure it's a low carb one. I like EAS carb control shakes. Best Wishes!

I last ate breakfast over 5 years ago. My band is not in anyway tight but first thing in the morning it is at its tightest and i just can't be bothered to eat. So I have an enormous skinny latte and then eat mid- morning.

I do know breakfast is an important meal but not having it hasn't done me any harm or stopped me losing.

I 'm not good about breakfast either, usually coffee.  But when I do have it I usually just make 2 scrambled eggs in the microwave, or have a yogurt or cottage cheese.  Protein bars are good also, they even have some breakfast flavored ones like cinnamon bun and strawberry yogurt.  Try not to skip too many meals, cause it makes it hard to get adequate protein in your diet, and I was almost passing out from doing it.  Very scary..... Keep up the good work!!!!!!

I eat a 1/4 c to 1/2 c of egg beaters and some kind of veggie ham mixed in.  Cheese and hotsauce too. Its about 200 calories.  Or I eat oatmeal.
