Setting a new goal!

My wedding is on January 15th.... and I weigh about 166lbs right now... give or take 5lbs on any given day.

I have set a goal for myself to lose 20lbs by then. Whether it happens fully or not is not important to me... the journey is the wonderful part, not always the destination.

I am planning about 1lb a week if I can, but I will take what I can get!!

2019: 11 years out and maintaining a loss of 150lbs.

Congratulations Elena, you are a great inspiration. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought you had already gotten married via information from your previous post, am I missing something??

Topic: I'M COMING HOME!!!!!!!!!!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Somebody up there really loves me! I feel so blessed...

I have been 'stuck' in Korea trying to fill out paperwork for an immigrant visa for my husband. Usually the immigrant visa process takes a while.. especially considering that my hubby is from Iran and we are newly weds. He knew an Iranian that started the process in February of 2010, had his interview in August and got his visa in November.

We started in the middle of March... had our interview on April 21st, and turned in additional paperwork on May 4th. That day they told me it would take "a while" because "well, you understand" (aka he's from Iran) and wouldn't give me a time frame.

I worried I'd be trapped here for months. May 5th was a holiday, so no work for them. May 6th...... in the morning... the visa arrived!!!!!!!!! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??

Thank you all for your prayers! We have a plane ticket to MN for June 12th! I'm excited to start my new married healthy life back in the US!

Hubby and I are gonna take a road trip to the east coast (PA, NJ, NY, DC, etc) a week after we get to the US (I know... ambitious! LOL) Wish us luck!!

Congratulations, Elena! You will be a beautiful bride whether or not you lose the 20 pounds, but I have confidence in your ability to do anything you set your mind to.

My beautiful friend, I have seen you accomplish so much these past few years, you can do this with your eyes closed!

I think you look gorgeous right now but if you want to try for another 20 pounds then I say go for it!!!

Can't wait to see you again next month!
