Thanks, Dianeg49! Do you know what brand the silicone pads were? I have researched them and Scaraway has gotten very good reviews. I am sure other brands work well also, though.

I am not sure of the brand. The dr.'s office just gave them to me. Oh, wait a minute ...I think I paid $37,000.00 and a year of physical therapy for them LOL.
They do work. I would use them again if I had a raised scar.

Adjustable Gastric Band on 12/20/10
I had a single incision in my navel for my band, so that scar was not a problem.  However, i had a very ugly and prominent scar left from my thyroidectomy a couple years ago.  My surgeon recommended Mederma, and i didn't find it to help.  But then my physical therapist (wrist surgery) told me about silicon scar sheets, and i used them.  Scar is *much* improved now.  So much so, i bought a box for my friend who just had her thyroid removed, and her scar is healing beautifully as well.

I even gave a couple to the owner of my gym, who has a nasty raised scar from a pacemaker.  He loved the results.
Highest weight - 224   Surgery weight - 201   Current weight - 155

I don't remember the brand that i used, but for my friend i bought Scaraway.  And she thought it was amazing.
