I work at a pumpkin patch every October with my sister and brother in law, actually I don't work it I visit her while she runs it. I have so much fun working the registers and chatting with the customers. I look forward to it every October.

I help her decorate the lot and I get to set up the pumpkin displays and merchandise. Last year I used glow in the dark glitter paint, gemstones and created a votive holder out of a mini pam ( tiny tiny pumpkin ) My sister lives in Georgia and comes out every year to manage the pumpkin and tree lots for a close family friend.

I also get to work the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival weekend which is tons of fun too.I love pumpkin time.

Bette I think the problem is that so many bandsters on here think it's "support" on here to insult, criticize, and fun of bandsters with FAILED bands. Then when we retaliate............they whine b/c we had the nerve to insult them after they insulted us. They want to tell THEIR band stories....but to hell with the story of a bandster with a failed band. So if this forum only wants to hear B.S. band stories by "successful" bandsters like nana...........lowcountry and..............****lite so be it.

And since they so fully enjoy playing the "blame the victim" game...............maybe they can volunteer at a rape crisis center after doing their "informative" Lap-Band posts and blame those poor women for letting theirselves get raped! B/c after all...............if they had a date and didn't get raped, but someone else did......it's obviously THEIR FAULT it happened!

Well I'm glad you love your band. All of us loved ours in the beginning also.

Now...........as far as "the ones that put down the band because they couldn't make IT work for them". The band either works or it doesn't. Why would u want to blame US for our band not working. That is very insensitive and judgemental.

You are very LUCKY. You recieved what the rest of us expected to get when we signed up for the program. However...............that is NOT what WE got! So if it makes you feel better to blame US for our bands not working................go right ahead! But a few yrs. from now I would be very interested in knowing who YOU blame when your band craps out on YOU!

And now lets address your comment about your "friends" that went byebye b/c of rude comments they got. Do you have any idea how many bandsters left this website b/c of rude comments they got from the band cheerleaders??? No. You don't. And I suspect you could care less! I guarantee you it is as many, if not MORE that the number of your wimpy jr. high acting friends that left b/c they didn't like what someone said!

Maria, will you please hear what I have to say with an open heart?  I've been on the boards here a year now and I've followed your posts since I've been here.  I undertand your feelings about the band and really do sympathize.    But anytime somene brings up the fact that the band is helping you MAINTAIN your weight loss that you lost-through-diet-alone, you bru**** off or never address it.

There are many that the band doesnt work for ..for a variety of reasons: doctor incompetence, defecive band, allergic to band, patient not following rules, etc.  I know you followed all the rules
and I have never blamed you for the failure of your band.   I'm following the rules too but I'm not losing as fast as so many here.  I'm a real slow loser but I AM steadily losing,.  Even on this 5 month plateu that just ended, I was still losing inches.

THe BIGGEST deal for me is that I'm KEEPING the weight off.  If the band didnt do anything else but THAT, isnt that  good thing?    I don't expect you to suddenly see my impeccable wisdom and go off cheerleading the band  but....can you at least acknowledge that you have had this benefit from the band?

I'm not trying to shut you up or be a forum nanny.  I just hate seeing you hurt day after day. Sometimes just a little shift in perspective can change the whole outlook.  Just my 2 cents, Maria.  I mean only the best for you.
