RANT! Are those of you will FAILED BANDS sick of hearing this?!
As far as I know, yes, he still has his band.
I was told for a "mere $7500," I could have the revision surgery. Like I could just get the money like it was nothing.
I was severly so frustrated with that, and the fact that I now produce so much "slime" when I eat, that my food wouldn't hardly go thru at all.... so I gained weight.... and I had them completely unfill me. I feel so much better!!!

I know Hislady is unfilled. And it seems that I have heard of several bandsters lately getting unfilled. So sad that so many of us can't use the band as is advertised to us. :-(

I'm sorry to hear this, Kelly. I'm hearing a lot about leaks lately. What are they doing? Reusing the bands and tubing or what?!Does Dr. Curry still have his band?
N.M. this point was brought up recently by another WLS'er. We discussed it about a month ago. I don't know if he does or doesn't still have his band. It would NOT surprise me if he has had it removed, or at the very leastis having band issues, and is keeping it quiet. What do u think???
True. He's not obligated to tell us. But I kind of feel like after he put his self out there with the "hey I'm a bandster too and mine works great!" to make money off of us here, that he should be ethical enough to share with us when he has issues or has it removed instead of trying to cover it up. But that's just me, lol.
~It's not a miracle cure to losing weight.~
None of us with failed bands has ever said that we wanted a "miracle cure". I think I can speak for the rest of them in saying that we resent the implication that that is what we expect! What we expected was for the band to work as advertised and help us get full sooner, and stay full longer. All we expected was the "tool" that is advertised. Many of us NEVER got that "tool" to work with. So consider yourself lucky!

100% agreed!! I have a leak in my band. My surgeon's, and his staff's suggestion: Come back monthly. Pay $100 each month to get filled.First off.... wtf.
Second off... I can't afford that!!! Never mind the fact that I have to drive an hour to my surgeon's office (with gas prices being outrageous, too!).... Yeah... how about a big "hell no."
I've been logging my calorie intake to right around 1200 calories a day. I've lost more weight doing that in 6 months than I have with the lap band in 2 years.
