I had surgery almost 2 years ago...and today I went for a fill because i had gained 13 pound over the last 6 months...and Bammm....Dr. say i have a prolapsed band.....has anyone else had this...what do I do..I mean I know what the dr. said....He took out fluid.....told me to start again..loose the 13 lbs..come back in 1 month and he will either take it out or fix it....is it possible that it will go back by itself....anyone...help....I cant stop crying...
Oh, Solo!
I'm so sorry you had this bad news! I haven't had a prolapsed band but I just want you to know that I will keep you in prayer that your band corrects itself with the unfill. I have heard that it's possible to reverse so keep that in mind and hope/pray for the best possible result. I'm sure you were in shock, so feel free to call your surgeon back once you've gathered your thoughts and compiled any additional questions. It's hard to grasp the details when you're so stunned.
Hang in there and know that I'm here for you if you need anything!

I had a prolapse, it fixed itself after a slight unfill BUT within four months it slipped again. Once it has slipped the chances of it happening again are very high. When I first found out I cried and cried, but then I pulled it together and researched my options (knowing that I would probably not get another band if they had to fix or remove it). While you have this month between appointments research all your options, ask questions and don't hesitate to PM me if you want to talk.
I know how hard it is to hear that something is wrong with your band.

Seeing that scares me so bad. You got you band just a few days after mine. When I see so many bandsters posting about things like this that were banded the same time as me, or some that were banded just a month or 2...........makes me wonder how much longer I will have before I'm having to pay for a 2nd surgery! :-(
Hope your not self-pay also! If it is not resolved by an unfill, please do NOT have it fixed. IMO having a band "fixed" is like putting a bandaid on a severed artery. :-(
