I think why you may have had a problem with your pill was because you reclined/lay down after swallowing the pill. I was never able to swallow a pill or a bite of food and immediately recline/lay down without it making me miserable.
Under normal cir****tances I would advise you to remain upright and walking for about 15 minutes prior to laying back down, but with a terrible headache, I'm assuming that was the last thing you would want to do.
