I would try to stay busy.  I find I don't think about food when I'm focused on something else.  It also helps if you are using a meal replacement shake.  This type of shake will give you all the vitamins your body requires.  You may be getting the headache because you are detoxing from all the carbs you would normally eat.  I always get them when I'm getting back on track from eating too many carbs.  Let us know how you make out.

By the way, congratulations on getting surgery on Monday!!!!!

.

The first few days are the hardest I will not lie to you, you will be hungry , you will be very very moody, and you will probably want to sleep alot .  I slept so much during this time and I was not a nice person to be around at the time lol.

What I did at night I did cheat a little bit and my doc knew I was doing it I told him .  I can not go to bed hungry , so I drank a glass of milk right before I went to bed. Milk will fill your tummy up or at least it does mine and you can get a decent nights sleep through this .  It really helped me at nights.

It's hard but you can do this , just think about your surgery on Monday . That would scare me enough not to eat things I shouldn't eat :o)

oh the smell of food I remember that lol.  That was hard for me to .I still had to cook for my 16 yr old son and my husband and I had to catch myself sooo many times not taste test when I was cooking. lol.

I had to do this diet for 12 days and by the 9Th day I was not nice at all .  It wasn't so much of being hungry some ways yes but just to have something to chew on that is what killed me .  Get some gum that will really help with this matter. I love them Extra Dessert things.  The mint chocolate one taste exactly like mint chocolate chip ice cream and the orange sherbet taste like the ice cream.  I also found   Werther's just came out with Sugar Free Caramel Cinnamon candies boy that stuff is really good and helps cure the sweet tooth if you get one :o)

To this day I can not stand pudding or jello. I just wont eat it lol.  I ate so much of that stuff 12 days before my surgery and then I had to eat more of that stuff 2 weeks after my surgery , I can not stand the stuff now and I refuse to eat it or buy it

I was never a water drinker before my surgery Pepsi I lived on the stuff and I drank alot of it every day.

If you have a Walmart near you , Walmart has a the Great Value of Cherry Limeade and its cheaper then Crystal lite and dang that stuff is good lol.  This is the only one I really like to be honest. Most of them are to sweet or just not good .  I can drink a gallon of the Cherry Limeade a day so I know I'm getting in my water for the day :o)

Now its all drink , I dont drink anything else but maybe a glass of milk here and there .

Congratulations on you upcoming surgery. Did your doctor give you a printed sheet with your diet on it, if not sure call his office and talk to someone  (he may have). You need to get the recommended amount of protein in. My husband will be banded on Sept 26 th and he started his liquid diet yesterday.
Our doctors diet is:
2 meals per day will be liquid protein supplements
3rd meal will be soup ( any kind and you may have everything in that can. Campbell's, Healthy Choice. Progresso, homemade ect. But stay away from heavy cream like soups like anything from La Madeline's)
He may also have the following Low fat cottage cheese
Vegetable juices V8, diet V8 fusion, ect
Ice tea (unsweetened or use artifical sweetener)
Coffee
Low fat creamer, Skim or 1% milk or Soy Milk
Sugar free popsicles
Sugar free drinks only (crystal light, G-2. Diet poweraide, ect.)
Sugar free pudding
Low fat yougart (check out greek yogurt it has double the protein)
Sugar free jelatin (no fruit added)
MIO flavoring for water
But please check with your doctor and follow his orders, i am worried that you are not getting in the required amount of protein you need to maintain your body and heal properly when you have your surgery. I know this is a hard time with the diet but it is so worth it. I was banded over 4 years ago and i told my husband i would start the diet with him i thought it would be easier on him if i ate what he did. So i am going to eat what he does until he can start back on solid food and is eating normall again. I know this is hard it is also hard on me with the band i need a fill and not scheduled to have one until the 29th of Sept. last night i was hungry but drank alot of water and it helped. Good luck to you and i wish you all the best.

Glad you called, every doctor has a different diet, gald you don't have to do it long. My husband has to do this until Sept 26th i talked to him earlier and he said he thought this hunger was making him angry lol. But is will be so worth it after it is all over. I wish you the best of luck in your weight loss journey.
