How long does it take.............

I see that my clothes don't fit and that I can fit in places I couldn't before. When I look in the mirror I still look the same (in my mind). How long did it take for your head to catch up with your body? I am down 43 pounds from my heaviest weight and 38 pounds from when I started the WLS process. Other people say I look great I just don't see it.

I know whatcha mean. Congrats on the 38 lbs!  From what I've learned here, most say people
don't notice until the weight loss exceeds 50 lbs.  For me, thats when people at work started commenting...and when I could see a difference myself. The best way to guage it, IMO, is to
compare photos.  Take a picture on the same day of the month for the next few months and I bet
you will see the difference.

.5 fill  March 2012. unfill of .25cc May 2012.  Unfill of .5cc June 2014.

Still with my lapband with no plans for revision. Band working well since

last small unfill.

It can take a looooong time. I still have a hard time seeing the difference in the mirror some days. What really helps me is to compare before and current pics. It is easier to see the difference in pictures.

I was going to take a monthly photo and I haven't. I will start doing that. Thanks!

congratulations on your weight loss,  When did you have your surgery??? I had mine 6 months ago and have lost 34 pounds.  I can tell by the way my clothes fit and the way my face is not as big and round LOL.  Most people I know and my family do not complement me, so that gets me depressed sometimes, I wish I could loose 35 more pounds in the next six months, but it is hard for me.  Good luck to you and I'm sure you look alot different...

I had my surgery June 17. I am very happy with how much weight I have lost so far.

congrats on your weight loss so far! Just yesterday I was sorting through some come clothes and held up a swim suit (eeek) and immediately thought it wasn't even worth trying on because it looked too big. Of course, my first thought was that I am now realizing that I am a smaller size. So far, I have lost 95 from my all time highest weight,58 since being banded. It may take a very long time to see yourself as others do. Wishing you continued success
