My sister-in-law called me last night and told me she has begun the process of the lap-band. She is looking at maybe Jan. 2012 She is going thru the same doctors I have ,at the Weightloss Center in Harrisburg, Pa. they are wonderful doctors. I tried to fill her in on all I know and suggested that she join this forum.. And, Jean M. I highly recomended your "Bandwagon" book. I told her it is the "Bible: for lap-banders. I told her there is the GOOD, the Bad,and the Ugly side of the band and of course :This Forum".too. I told her not to take everything to heart on here, but, i will give her names of my go to "Vets". I will let everyone know when she joins up..She doesn't have her own PC but,. goes to her sons to use his.. She told me she is scared but, I told her she will feel more at ease once she starts talking to everyone here.. Her brother had by-pass years ago and he didn't do very well..He didn't follow the rules and gained all his weight back, so he isn't on board with the band. Her husband and son's all all for it...Just wanted to let you know we will soon add another bandster to the bench..
