When will you be able to eat lettuce?

I don't know.  I go to my surgeon tomorrow for my first post-op visit, and you can bet I'll be asking him.  But based on others' experiences, it will be a while.  I cannot wait!

I am good :-) Other than the occasional port freak out session... all is well. No pain. I have been doing soups... My mother, bless her heart has made it her personal mission that I eat NOTHING from a can, so she makes me a new soup every 2-3 days. This is the week I start mushies, but I may stick w/ the soup for a litl while longer.

Hi, I can relate to that. I couldn't wait to chew something when I was on the liquids. It will be worth the wait. Mona

Funny, I remember having the same craving!  I rarely eat salad  anymore because my band doesn't like lettuce and the dressings I like are too high in calories, but I really missed being able to eat something with a crunch when I was on liquids for 3 weeks and mushies for 2.

Whatever you do, don't progress too quickly on solids.  It's really dangerous to stress the band while you're healing.

You'll be there soon enough.

Take care and hang in there!

Just be sure and wait till you get the doc's OK, then try it.  My band is fine with salads.  I only have trouble with scrambled eggs, soft breads, and dry meats.  And the only way I found it out was by trying it.  I keep my trusty papaya enzymes close.  They have only failed me once.  Good Luck to you!
