Protein ideas please!
I am in the soft food stage, and I'm looking for some ideas for quick protein to have on hand besides shakes, cottage cheese, eggs, fish, and peanut butter. I like all of those things, but just looking to get some variety. And I'm looking for things to pack in my lunch where I may or may not have a microwave. Also, for some things to have on hand in my purse or desk drawer. I didn't have enough protein with me today, and it was not fun! Even though I had acceptable food with me, there wasn't enough protein, so I never felt full for longer than about 30 minutes. Mid-afternoon, I finally got some protein and it worked like a charm...stayed full for hours. Anyway...any new ideas? Once I get to the solid food stage, it will be a little easier (nuts, protein bars, etc), but soft food is a bit of a conundrum for me.!

Fat free refried beans with FF sour cream, taco sauce etc, egg salad, chicken salad with ff mayo, I use canned chicken breast, scrambled eggs with laughing cow cheese added, greek yogurt with 1/2 of single serving packet of any flavor crystal light added for flavor. On the go things can be harder at this stage but this stage will be over with soon, so hang in there:)
I love the re fried beans to .I put salsa , cheese and light sour cream on mine and its so yummy !! I still eat that today that is one food I didn't get sick of during my stages of healing lol.
Soft food for me was a very hard stage also . Now on the soft food stage he let me have chicken (dark meat of course its really juicy ) as long as I ate that part of it I had no problems .
Hubby would buy me the Kroger's Deli Chicken that cooks because you can take a bite of that and the juice just drips off it , I had no problems eating that . Chicken was the only meat I was allowed to eat though in this stage . Just make sure if you do eat this its very juicy and you take little bites and chew well.
Tuna salad is another I was allowed to have. I dont like Tuna I cant get past the smell to eat something like that lol use light mayo and make sure its not dry .
