CAN I GET MY LAP BAND PUT BACK IN - AGAIN?!
I'm always surprised at how many people have absolutely NO clue about human anatomy. The questions, "I had surgery last week and I have a pain in my left side. What could it be?!" blow me away. I would think that before having surgery, a person would crack open a book, Google or something. It doesn't take much research to see that your stomach lies under the left ribcage area. And a port is under the skin, nowhere near the actual stomach. And the stomach is made of living tissue, prone to damage from a foreign object more than, say, a tooth or even a knee cap.

Query re post-op pain = just fine, normal, expected, not insane
Seriously suggesting that someone should have surgery to replace something that was removed because it wore a HOLE in the questioner's stomach = INTENSELY not bright
NM is NOT judgemental. I also didn't take her response as rude...simply factual.
She is one of the sweetest, kindest, funniest, talented , CARING people you could ever hope to meet.
She had a HORRIBLE, life threatening experience with a lap band. ( mine was not life threatening when I had it removed but had I not, it would have become so).
She chooses to tell people about her experience because she has first hand knowledge of the dangers a lap band can cause. She is never rude or disrespectful..she is trying to HELP....and she takes a lot of abuse because of it.
Some people just choose to bury their heads in the sand and not see what is right in front of them.
My whole life has changed! I am still working as a NICU RN and right now, I am finishing my 7 night stretch! I could have never worked more than 3 nights in a row while I was so obese! Now I work my shifts together and then take 8 days off - fly to CA to see my new BF and love every minute of it! Life is sweet now!
How are you? I remember you fondly!
