frickin GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
Okay everyone....Please help me! I have been 243-241 since June. I'm so frickin frackin frustrated!!
I just got a fill Monday 8/22 and I felt restriction till about Wednesday, which is when I could do solids. I know I have read that some people get fills but it takes a week or 2 for them to kick in? I have about 7 cc's in my 11 cc band. the PA said this is where most patients find they are most comfortable? I am keeping up my exercise, even though I wont lie and I think somedays whats the use, but I always remind myself, I AM the use and no matter if the scale goes down or not, I'm still healthier when I move!
I thought this stall would only last for a week or two, but we are going on a little over 2 months...I'm ready to scream!!!
Does anyone have any advice on breaking through this darn things?? I don't know if I need to up my exercise? I feel like maybe that would help, but I don't know...I do about 35-45 min 5-6 days a week.....oh my band buddies can you help please!!!!
thanks everyone!!

I dont blame you for being frustrated. I know what keeps me motivated is seeing results in my appearance and the scale. But dont give up. I can only tell you what I find works for me. As for sticking to my diet plan I find that the days I get a good workout in I tend to do better with my eating. I find that my mental state thinks that if I worked this hard at they gym I dont want to ruin it by eating something I would regret. I found that the heavier I was, the harder it was for me to work out. I would say the first few months of lap band I didnt work out at all. But after I lost a little weight I added some group fitness classes at the gym. That really helped. But after a while I would gain 10 pounds, and then loose 10 pounds, and this went on for like 6 months. (of course I wasnt always eating what I should) But just recently I changed up my gym routine and now I work out way harder than I did before and I am doing great. Its hard to explain the program I do at the gym, its a cross between a personal trainner working with me, and a boot camp class. I am still only doing a hour a day, but I am working way harder during that hour and I think its made all the difference. I have lost maybe 25 pounds since June. ( good for me since I hadnt made progress in a long time) I still have 35 more to go, and finally realize what works for me. I dont know what you do at the gym, but maybe challenge yourself just a little more and change up your routine. Maybe add strength trainning, or walk or run just a little faster ect....It sounds like you already put in the time, just maybe do something different. Just a suggestion. But dont give up, it sounds like you are on the right path. Jen
I am going to suggest you up your exercise . I dont think 30 min to even 45 min is long enough and what kind of exercise are you doing ?
You will need to change it around some and increase the amount of time , and the intensity of your workout.
I have been stalled for almost a month a half now and some of that is my fault due to my eating habits lately .
But before my eating got a little out of hand I was just doing Zumba and I think my body just got use to the exercise and that is why I stalled and that led to frustration and depression and then I started to eat :o( .
Please dont let that happen to you , its not fun , its hard as hell to get back on track , and you feel like a total failure so I dont want to see that happen to you.
I'm starting tomorrow to add my Richard Simmons back into my life lol. I love him to death and I have always did so well weight wise with his exercise tapes. So I will be doing Zumba two days a week and Richard 3 times a week.
Kick up your exercise, change your exercise around, and I think food is a issue to or at least on my part it is . Are you eating the same things day in day out . Not changing food around ? Somebody told me to change my food around so I will be adding some new things this week also along with different exercise to see if that helps.
You might be like me , if you dont exercise enough then you just wont lose weight. There is alot of us like that . I wish I was one of the lucky ones that didn't have to exercise to lose weight but that isn't the case .
I wish I could help more I'm going through the same thing right now so like I said I'm changing my exercise around, and changing my food around .
Another thing are you eating to low of calories ? That might be some of the problem to. If you dont get enough calories in your body then it will just stall and not do anything. I can not lose anything if I eat less then 1000 calories a day .
Have you taken your measurements lately ? You could be losing inches and that is why you wont see the pounds drop.
I know this past spring I stalled for a good 4 weeks and I ended up losing like 8 inch's that month .
Keep your chin up !!

"...frickin frackin frustrated!!" Okay, that made me laugh. I am 3 weeks post-op, so I am not only a newbie, but I am a brand new newbie! So, I don't really have any advice to give, but I wanted to know that your first couple sentences made me smile. Congrats on your weight loss before the stall...stay focused...I believe in you...you WILL get through this!
(Anything I've read about stalls or plateaus has been to change something...up your protein or lower your protein, up your carbs a little or lower them, change your exercise...maybe you don't have to add, but change it...cardio vs. strength, walking vs. swimming...I have no clue! Just throwing out some ideas. I am dreading these times in my weight loss because pre-surgery, this is when I would give up and start to regain my weight back and then some.)

This probably isn't all that helpful but I just waited! I admit I never had a stall of as long as yours, but I did have my fair share of months with very, very little loss.
Basically, if we eat fewer calories than we burn, we must use stored energy, i.e. fat..
So as long as that basic equation is correct, the pounds will go.
Eventually!!
Upping exercise, changing calories etc. may well work. But I wanted a new lifestyle with which I could live for the rest of my days! A long term slimmer me living a life which suits me! And if that took longer than obsessing about calories in, calories out.... So be it! And I don' like the gym, knew that sort of exercise was not going to happen long term so didn't do it short term!
But that's just me!
