I have been drinking Isopure Dutch Chocolate protein shakes as breakfast and I notice that it is extremely frothy.  Why is that? No matter if I user fat free milk or water with 12oz of liquid and it turns out the same way.  I even through fruit would help.

Are you using a blender or other mechanical device to mix it?

For my first 2+ years post-op, I liked a frothy protein shake and achieved it by using frozen milk (I put the milk in ice cube trays) and whizzing it in a blender.. Eventually that frothy stuff turned me off (I have no idea why), so I switched to blending the protein powder with cold milk, with better results (for me). For a while, I had a problem with the protein powder forming nasty clumps, and the manufacturer explained that protein powder behaves differently with cold versus warm versus hot liquids. Maybe if you contact Isopure's consumerf relations department they can tell you how to avoid the froth.

Protein = froth. Look at egg whites when you beat them up, or clean out a pan that had egg whites in it. The water gets really frothy. People with kidney disease can tell they are getting worse when their pee froths up in the pan, because of the albumin being leaked out (protein).
