I'm back- 1 year bandiversary!
Hi All!
It's been a couple of months since I've posted and just wanted to say "hi." My 1 year bandiversary was Aug. 16th and I've lost 52 lbs. Wow... I never thought I'd lose this much weight in one year. I was at a standstill for about 3 months, but after my last fill I can honestly say that I am having great restriction. All my one year labs came back good but I need to be drinking more fluids during the day. Working on that now
. I'm enjoying life, yet learning how to use my new "pouch" has been a journey. I still have to be mindful on a daily basis and sometimes I slip up and eat something I shouldn't, eat too fast, or eat too much. Even after my first year post-op I am relearning how to eat. Even so, I would do it all again. I am finally getting a little more confident as people I haven't seen in years have noticed my weight loss. (I was beginning to wonder if anyone would ever notice.) It feels so good to hear someone say, "Have you lost weight?" I smile and say "Why yes I have!"
Jen :)

Jen,
Big congrats to you !!!! 52 pounds in one yr is totally awesome that is alot of weight off your body when you really sit back and think about it.
Everybody will have the days that they eat to much, or eat foods they shouldn't but as long as its not every day like we use to do then I think we have done really well :o)
Keep up the great work and here is to another 50 pounds off by your next Anniversary :o)

Hello,
Congrats!!! You are well on your way to reaching your ultimate weight goal! I was banded on 3/21/11(weight 226lbs) , but had two months of complications due to the port being close to my belly button, which added pressure and it created a cyst. On June 2nd, the re-adjustment was made by moving the port higher. I have had 4 fills since my first surgery and have lost 29lbs. I still feel that I can overeat if I don't stop myself. I plan to get another fill after Labor Day and hopefully, I will feel more restricted.
You have inspired me to continue to stay positive, even when a month or two go by and I don't lost anything!

Hello Everyone,
I did it! I am 3 day post op! I feel good, and I have not taken any pain killers since I left the hospital Tuesday morning. The first two days I felt pressure around my abdomen and shoulder; but the nurse told me that it was gas and it would go away as I walked. I was very hungry last night around 4am, but I got up and had a a little Crystal light and eventually fell asleep again. today I started on soft foods, so I had some cream of wheat with splenda. So far, so good.
