I had lapband surgery 2 years ago. I recently had abdominoplasty 1 week ago and I feel no restriction at all. My stomach is obviously very numb but anyone else had this experience? My porrt had to be moved and I was worried that maybe the tubing got cut. Hoping its just the numbness....

How would you have restriction without a port??

I still have the port. It just had to be moved over so that the surgeon could tighten my stomach muscles. The problem is when I eat I can't feel any restriction anymore like I used to. I'm guessing its because my stomach is so numb but was trying to find somone else that has experienced this or heard of it...

I had a tummy tuck and didn't experience that. Maybe things got shifted around during surgery. I would go to your lapband surgeon. Maybe a slight fill will give you restriction back.

I would make an appt with my bariatric surgeon -- and have him remove the fluid in there, put it back and then try to remove it again -- to make sure that the port/tubing are all still attached normally.

Who knows what happened during the abdominoplasty ----

Definitely make an appointment because they operated on your abodiminal wall and muscles which have nothing to do with your internal stomach which is where the band is placed.  What COULD have happened is that your port being moved...maybe your tubing came loose or got cut and you've lost saline...time to check it out.

I've had a TT and my port was moved too.  I still had restriction and probably more because of all the swelling.  I'd absolutely visit your LapBand doc and check things out.  Good Luck!
