Update on back pain and acid reflux

Hello everyone here's the update. I went to my primary doctor on Thursday and she determined that I have referred pain in my back from the acid reflux. Also I have ear infections in both ears and a severe sinus infection. So the mucus has been draining, irritating my stomach and causing the nausea.
So today, Friday, I went to see my surgeon and he took out all of the fluid from the band. He hopes that the acid reflux will go away.
I have not eaten solid food since Wednesday and was told to continue with a liquid diet through the weekend.

So we will see what happens in the next week.

Thanks for all of the advice and concern.

Sinus drainage from allergies, colds, or sinus infections has horrible effects on my band, too. I hope the unfill and resting your innards by staying on the liquid diet do the trick for you. That's always worked for me.

Feel better soon!

Did either doctor prescribe Prilosec or something like it?  The same thing happened to me a year ago and I had to have a complete unfill for 2 weeks and take Omeprozole for 2 weeks.  That cleared everything up and I was fine afterwards.

I hope you feel better soon.

I have been on aciphex for about a month and it was working. So now it's wait and see but I am still taking the aciphex for the acid reflux. Thanks ladies for the support!

My acid reflux and subsequent total unfill was caused by sinus drainage.  If you have sinus problems, you should do what my sinus specialist suggested: get a neti pot and start using it daily.  I've been using one daily since March and it helped me get through allergy season this year.  Once you get used to using it, it becomes just a part of your daily routine.  I had no days this spring of that tight compressed someone's got my head in a vise feeling that you get with allergy attacks and I've had no acid reflux.
