I am sooooo in love with BOB :) I had RNY in 2001 I lost 122 pounds and got down to a size 14. I was a very happy girl. I managed to keep off the weight until three years ago. I gained back 50 pounds and was very unhappy. BOB and I got together December 26th 2009...Yes liquids for Christmas....I have lost 95 pounds and for the first time in my life I am wearing a size 8 and some size 6 jeans. Never in my life did I think that I would ever wear Medium and sometimes a Small top. I will admit that I worked harder with my band to get those pounds off. I think that you need to really want this for yourself. With my RNY I really did not need to do much to make the first hundred pounds fall off of me in the first six months. With the band I have been successful due to exercise and really watching what I eat for the first time in my life. I am very thankful for the second chance at weightloss.

Thank you sooooo much for responding. This makes me feel so much better. I feel like this would be my second chance at weight loss. I need the push, because right now I feel like a failure and honestly have not been helping the situation much (ie: over eating, binge eating) from the stress of thinking about the regain. My lowest ever was 180 and boy I was so happy there, but I worked out and I actually looked thin wore a juniors size 9/11 and mediums. I had two children and ever since then I cant get the extra 50 off. Ultimately I would love to be able to maintain between 155-160 and enjoy it. Do you have any tips for success? What are some things you eat?

I appreciate all the comments. I also had a bypass in 2002 and gained about 65-70 lbs back after I had my daughter in 2008. I just had the band placed over bypass in Mexico with Dr. Alamanza as my insurance wouldnt cover it. I had a great experience there and I hope I am back on the right track. Id like any encouragement from anyone especially the successful positive ones... I havent had my band filled yet as i am on clears now for about a week or so....then progressing the diet.....please email directly. I would look forward to it!!

I too had a Band over bypass by Dr Almanza in Aug of this year.  I have had 2 fills but I'm not feeling any restriction yet.  How has this worked for you?  How many fills did it take for you to fill restriction?  How is your Band working for you?

Having your surgery with almanza on 03/08/13. How have you done overall? I keep getting conflicting information.

Hi I had my surgery with Dr. Almanza on Aug 8, 2012.  my starting weight was 245.  My current weight is now 230.  The main reason is that it took me a long time to get to the proper fill.  I had at least 5 fills before I returned to Dr Almanza to do the fill.   I was using one of the Fill Centers and they were only adding .5 - 1 cc at a time and I was not feeling any restriction.  When Dr Almanza did the fill, he added 7 CCs at one time and I finally felt some restriction.   I did not start to really see much weight loss until then and it is still very hard.  It is not like the original surgery.  I have had to work for each pound.  I can say that I cannot eat as much as I could before and I don't get as hungry as I did before the surgery but it is really hard to lose the weight this time around.  I have to watch every calorie and exercise at least 4-5 times a week.  One thing that the surgery did was to stop me from gaining weight.  I used to throw-up a lot and I have not thrown-up since the surgery.    This procedure has really made me go back to the basics and really look at how much of the right stuff I am eating and how much of the bad stuff that I should not be eating.  It is not like the RNY at all.  It really is just a tool to help you, but you really have to be willing to use the tool.  You can still eat around it.  It does not restrict you to a really small portion of food like the RYN.  You really have to be selective of what you eat.  Let me know if you would like to talk Live about the procedure and if you have further questions.   Would I do it again?  Probably.  Is it what I expected? No.  It did stop me from gaining weight and really made me conscious of the way I had been eating and my lack of exercise prior to the procedure.  No Magic-bullet or RYN re-birth.

I was wondering if you could share how the BOB is working for you? Thanks
