Hungry all the time!
Hello all! I am one week post op and is hungry all the time. Is this normal and what can I do? I am on the liquid diet but is having trouble sticking to it because I am so hungry. I know some may say that it is head hungry but it is not. I am very moody and emotional. I spent all day yesterday crying because I was so stressed about feeling so hungry after surgey. I know it is not a cure all and I should be in control but I am literally starving.
Totally normal...relax take a deep breath....Keep on the liquid diet I know that it is hard because I went thru it myself...plus I am assuming you do not have any fills yet? So if you dont have any fills yet you dont have any restriction. Its ok to cry.....but honey you will be crying tears of joy when you feel better and look better....nothing taste as good as being thin.
First of all, stop beating yourself up! My Goodness! You can't be in control of this! You're on a liquid diet! Of course you're hungry! Even if your band was a tight as it could safely be, you'd still be hungry all the time - liquid goes right through it! It's not head hunger. It's tummy hunger!
Being moody and emotional is normal too - esp. when you're starving!
Are you allowed to drink protein drinks? What types of things are you allowed to drink? Don't eat anything solid - it's not time for that. No matter how hungry you get, stick to the plan that the doctor gave you. We've all been there and we all know how it feels! It sucks! BUT it will get better.

Hi. I'm one week post op myself. I am a bit hungry too. Mostly for something meaty and salty. What I've found that is helping me with that is the Unjury Chicken soup. The first time I made it with water and it was just ok. Now I make it with low sodium chicken broth and it's really pretty tasty. I've just gotten it into my head that I want this so badly that I'll do whatever it takes even though some suffering is involved. Good luck fellow new bander!

Dont feel bad... Im another person one week post-op and I am HUNGRY!! My tummy growled so loud the other day it woke me right up outta my sleep... ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/bed.gif)
Its a struggle, but dont let yourself get discouraged... it is only a means to an end, and the end of that phase will come soon enough! You can do this. Maybe your can ask your surgeon if you can puree a veggie like carrot or broccoli into whatever soup broth your eating and that might help you feel a little fuller. Good Luck.
