VBG revision to Lap Band pre op
My surgeon wants me to have an EGD tomorrow as part of pre op testing. He wants to see the condition of my stomach. I am a little freaked out about it, never had something down my throat while just mildly sedated. AND I am concerned about the small opening and the camera (because I had to prior VBG) Can anyone offer an experiences and hopefully make me feel a little more comfortable?

Whats a VGB? I had that test before lap band. Its a cake walk test. They sedate you very nicely so it doesn't bother you. Also after you aren't hurting in the least. Just make sure someone skilled does it cause they can perforate something if they are bad.
I was scared at first to do it but I would do again much more at ease the second time.

I worked in GI for 3 years and have also had an EGD. You will do fine. Your doc will sedate you and you will not remember anything. its a pretty quick procedure about 10-15 minutes your doctor will be able to see any narrowing before he gets to it with the built in camera in the scope. All will go well and it will be over before you know it. Hang in there and try not to worry.
