Sample Menu Ideas Please.....
Hello everyone. Could I ask any of you if you could post what a sample menu looks like for you guys? I'm really struggling getting in 60 grams of protein and would like to up it to 70-80 grams a day. I feel like I would be eating nothing but meat all day and I know thats not right. So could you guys help me out????
My menu is:
B-Atkins protein shake 15g
L-salad w/ tuna 20g
S-spaghetti w/ meat sauce 15g (i think)
Now keep in mind I dont eat spaghetti everynight, but we do have it once a week, (for a family of 5 its a cheap meal and we are struggling right now)
I would love any kind of help right now with my menu...My doctors office doesn't need me to see the NUT anymore, because I am on the last phase of eating now, and the last tme I saw her, I got, "well you didn't have bypass, and we really don't have much info for you" and she told me I wouldn't be "allowed" to eat spaghetti anymore.
So I'm asking you guys to help me out on this please!!!

a low carb mission soft tortilla small one , 2 stea**** , slice of baby Swiss cheese, and 1/4 cup of mushrooms, and 1 tablespoon of light mayo.
total calories for this meal 435
Total carbs 20 but this shell also has 14 grams of fiber in it so it makes it like 6 net carbs
Total protein 22
Lunch
Cheeseburger patty with Swiss cheese , 1/2 cup of green giant steamers with broccoli , carrots and cauliflower
Total Calories for this meal 415
Carbs 8
Protein 28
Dinner
Grilled chicken thigh 2 tablespoons of bbq sauce, broccoli slaw with a garlic expressions vinger dressing , and my veggies from lunch again
Calories 285
Carbs 11
Protein 24
Total calories for the day 1238
Carbs 66
Sodium 1600
Protein 75
And there is nothing wrong with eating spaghetti !!!!! Remember getting the band is not giving up foods its about teaching us proper portion control that is it :o) I had spaghetti last night also and I dont feel guilty about it. As you said once a week that is nothing and if you are eating it in moderation then dont sweat it :o)
There is nothing you are not allowed to eat. I eat all the same things before since I had my surgery I just dont eat them foods as much now and I eat them in much smaller portions .
And I know the feeling about when money is tight you have to do what you have to do . I can understand why there is so many overweight people in our country. Go to the grocery store and look at the healthy food prices. I cant afford to buy fresh veggies every week or fresh fruit , its not in my budget some weeks. So, what you need to do is eat what you can and afford drink some extra water and hit the exercise just a big harder :o) Eating healthy is NOT cheap by all means and like I said that is why people dont buy healthy because times right now families just cant afford to buy them kind of foods .

Debbie, hope it helps you, I know I was curious about it too when I post op, heck I'm still curious! I am good with everything right now, hopefully it stays that way!

that is what I thought too, I didn't get the band for me not to be able to eat anything. I keep my portion under control and your right, I have to do what I have to do. I don't eat nor do I want to eat 2 plate fulls of it anymore! Just 3/4 cup of noodles and 1/4 c of sauce. Usually i don't fini**** but the point is, my NUT said I should never eat that again, but then in the same breath say, well you didnt have bypass....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, anyway, I get a fill tomorrow, so I'm excited to go down!!
