I was banded on 4-13-11 and as of today have only lost 20 lbs.  I have had 1 fill .  Thoughts on if I should have another fill.  Also the only time I have seen the Doctor since was when I had my fill.

Thoughts on if I should have another fill.

Yes, you probably need another fill.

If you're able to eat more than 1/2 cup of solid food at a time and/or you're getting hungry sooner than 4-5 hours after a meal, you need a fill.

Also the only time I have seen the Doctor since was when I had my fill.

Is that part of your question? Did you expect to see the surgeon more often? I know many bandsters who never see their surgeon at all after surgery because a nurse or PA does the fills and aftercare. If you want to see your surgeon more often, call his/her office and make an appointment.

I was banded last May, I saw my surgeon regularly for the first few months.  I can make an appt with him whenever I feel I need to.  Make an appt with your surgeon, maybe you need a fill.  Congrats on losing 20 lbs and good luck.

Adjustable Gastric Band on 06/04/11
It took me several fills to get it right I was banded on 6/4/11 and after almost 3 months I'm down 40 pounds but that is after having a few stalls just hang in there I know how you feel I was in your shoes and wanted to scream! But every pound lost is a pound closer to your goal and as far as seeing your surgeon I haven't seen mine but once since my surgery I have however been seen by the physicians assistant but you do have a choice the wait maybe a little longer to see your surgeon unfortunately. Just practice your eating habits and hang in there bet of luck and keep in mind your not alone on this journey!

congrats on the 20 pounds that is a really good start in your journey :o)

As far as a fill it really depends on what your doctor goes by as to when you need a fill .

My doctor does not like us to eat anything less then a cup of food per meal and he encourages two snacks a day healthy of course.  If we cant eat a full cup of food per meal he will take saline out of us he is very strict about that part of the meal plan .

I can eat my cup of food and stay full for a good three hrs that is basically the time limit 3 hrs or more on a cup of food .

are you exercising ?  are you eating to many carbs and sugars ? Are you eating to high sodium foods ?  Are you drinking to many high calorie drinks ?

Do you track everything that goes into your mouth even sauces and dressings ?

I have been on a standstill with my own weight the last month and half and it comes back down to me being at fault .

I got very lazy on my exercise, and if I dont exercise I dont lose weight it dont matter how well I eat, how little I eat no exercise no weight loss.

I got a little lazy on the food dept. also. I never went over my cup of food or not by much I was just letting head hunger get the best of me especially the last three weeks and it dotn matter how much saline you got in your band the band dont take head hunger away :o( wi**** did though lol.

So I'm back on track today going back to when I first got the band , measuring food, going back to my Zumba regularly this week, getting my water in and so forth .
