Hi there! I had surgery on the 17th and will see my doctor next week. Any suggestions of a "menu" for a liquids only diet?

Thanks!

I used progressive "French Onion Soup" and "Gumbo"  Strained.  I also preferred the Atkins Advantage drinks to the Slim Fast.  I sent my husband to pick me up some egg drop soup at the chinese restaurant.  Love the sugar free popsicles.  I really didn't feel like eating much, and I still don't because I'm afraid to eat to where I feel that last bite regret pain that many ppl talk about.  It has been 2 weeks for me and I see my doctor this week.  I've lost 15 lbs.  Today, we went eat at a local restaurant and I ate red beans and baked fish.  I have enough for 3 meals.  I also can tolerate the eggs, and got 3 clusters of crab legs last thursday.  I have eaten 1 cluster per day at meal time.  The thing I have been concerned about is how sore and tender my tummy is at the incision sites.  I wonder how long it will be tender.  I hope I have been helpful.

I was allowed 'full liquids' after 3 days --

A typical day for me was

Water - - started the day with about 16 ounces of water
B -- thinned yogurt (I ate the Trader Joe's Blueberry or Pomegranate Greek Yogurt)

after an hour -- more water (I waited the hour to train myself to not drink after eating -- not sure it is as important while you are on liquids)

S -- about 4 ounces of a protein shake (I mixed chocolate shake with a little coffee)

L -- cream of chicken or cream of mushroom (I usually added a little picate sauce to spice it up)

S -- about 4 ounces of a protein shake

D -- more soup

S -- another yougurt or some runny pudding

I drank water constantly throughout the day --- and if I was really hungry, I added in another protein shake a day

I did not have much hunger for the first few weeks post op.
