Here is a pic from today right before leaving for college.  I'm excited and happy for him and yet feel sad to not see him everyday.  I've been fighting my emotions  for weeks and trying not to eat. I'm doing okay.

We are fortunate that our daughter is living at home while going to Nursing School, so we are not empty nesters.  I gave Kyle a hug before we left, didn't want to embarrass him at the Frat house.  He is our youngest and gosh the time went so fast.

So here is a current pic of me with Kyle and my DH Chris.

Ahhh, Kristi, I know what you are saying. I did it 4 times and thought I would die each time. With our oldest daughter I started having crying bouts a year in advance! It never got much easier but I did survive and learned to adapt. I wish I could offer words of wisdom but just know I am thinking of you.

Thanks for your kind words Sue.  I can't imagine doing this 4x's.

It's funny how I really don't remember it being a big thing in my life when I moved out to go to college and I don't think it was for my parents.  They pushed me to move out into a dorm even though the dorm was 5 miles away from where I grew up when I went to nursing school.

I was always the mom that felt sad when the kids went back to school each school year.

You look absolutely beautiful!  And look at that smile!  Your DH should be the smiling to have such a gorgeous woman on his arm!

Great pictures!

Kristi,
What great pictures. I was ok when my oldest left for college, but when our youngest left it was really hard. They tend to stay "our babies." LOL
Now we have two wonderfull grandkids who we have spent sooo much time with and really enjoyed. Our oldest Zach starts high school today. Wow, where did the time go. Keylee is 10 so she still has time for mimi and papa.
We are expecting a new granddaughter any day now. So we will have quite an age range with our grandkids. It will be fun.
Good Luck ! I am sure he will miss you more then he might want to admit.

Ps. You look really good!

Thanks Diane!  Enjoy that new granddaughter soon!  How exciting.  It's great that you are a part of your gandkids lives.  My parents were too busy to have much to do with our kids and from the months of April through Oct, they are only 45 minutes away.

You're a beautiful lady with a beautiful family!

P.S. - um, excuse me for saying so, but Kyle is a hunk. I'm not sure it's safe to let him loose on a college campus full of co-eds!
