sooo frustrated
hi guys, i have not been here in god knows how long, but i need a pep talk.... long story short.... lost 100 lbs two yrs ago, had a possible slip, had all fluid removed..ins. changed now they wont cover... tried to fight aetna and lost...filed an appeal and lost.....i am now in the process of trying to get our health ins. switched around to cover bariatrics again, as they did in 06..... here it is a year later...still no fluid in the band. called about self pay, and the cost is not bad, but i cannot afford it right now... damn... i went from a size 22 to a size 12 now i am back up to a freakin 16.....i just needed a boost from u guys.....i wish they had a stupid charity care for patients whose ins. let them down !!!!!!!

I have major insurance issues also and need my band replaced with a larger one (due to scar tissue) and a hernia repaired. So I also have no fluid. I bought Jean's bandwagon book and I tell you it has saved me! She reminds you of how to be a good bander etc... it was well worth it wish I would have bought it sooner!
Good luck!
Good luck!
Sorry your going through that. There are so many bandster that lose their one shot at an effective long term WLS because of insurance changes. Also many insurance companies are now adding a "one WLS per lifetime" stipulation and there are now many people stuck with non-working or even health endangering bands as a result of this!
Good luck!
Hi Karen,
Sorry you are you going through all that :o(
Have you started to track your food intake again ? I track everything that goes into my mouth good and bad that way if I gain at the end of the week I can go back and see where I went wrong .
Are you watching your carbs ? Are you drinking to many calorie drinks ? Are you drinking enough water ? And are you exercising ?
You can lose weight without any fluid in your band it is harder but it can be done there are several girls on here that has lost quite a bit without a fill.
Like I said it will be harder but if you need to go to six meals a day instead of just three and a snack. If you think about it most NUT will tell you its better to eat six small meals instead of three meals.
If you eat six meals that might keep you from getting hungry all the time :o) . Make sure when you do eat your breakfast, lunch and dinner its alot of protein that really helps you stay full longer .
You can do this. Hang your size 12 pants right where you wake up every morning or hang them on your fridge that will be a daily reminder what you are trying to achieve .:o)

I'm sorry you have to go through this. I also read in a book, the one by Dr. Garth Davis, that you can talk to your employer aobut having WLS back on as part of their plan- since they do the contracting. My insurance company automatically doesn't let small companies have WLS! But I agree, get THE BANDWAGON. It is such a helpful book (and I don"t get no $ for saying so) and be sure to exercise. Good luck!K
