Hello all. So I had my surgery on Monday. Came home yesterday. Still have some gas left in from the surgery. feeling good. No pain but some pressure which is obviously from the gas.

Very happy with my decision. I know this will be a tough few weeks but IM still happy I did it.

ANy tips? Did u all feel this way when u came home?

Amy,
So glad everything went well with surgery. Do as much walking as you can, that really helps dispell the gas.

You are right where you are supposed to be. Follow your surgeon's orders with regards to eating - every surgeon has a different plan but it is important that you stick with the one set out by  your clinic. Don't cheat and be tempted to move on too fast. Focus on healing, moving around and gradually returning to normal and you will be fine.  Drink lots, rest lots and get ready for the rest of the journey.

I agree with the others. You are right on track. Rest up and keep hydrated above all else right now. The calories and counting crud will come with time, but not right now. No worries!

I used a heating pad between my shoulders and it felt like heaven!  Fudgecicles - which happen to be sugar free- were fantastic and helped with the swelling from the inside out. At least I'd like to think they did?? There were good regardless of their therapeutic powers.

I took everyone of my meds, but I'm here to warn you that if you are feeling no pain, you might be tempted to walk a little too far, help out in the house a little too much. For the next week- you job is to lay around and heal. Walk every hour you're awake to keep that gas moving up and out but other than that, you get to do NOTHING!  Truly take it slow and listen to your MD's rules about eating. It's a struggle for most folks but you'll get there.

Happy Healing!

Make sure that you get in your protein!  I didn't get enough and was terribly weak.

Thanks everyone. I'm walking. Love that free feeling of not being trapped in the house. Drinking and taking all my vitamins. I guess mynproblem is I'm so active normally. Riding my bike, kayaking and stuff like that. The gas is the worst. Im happy otherwIse.
