How many CC do you have in your large band at 2 mos out?

Just got my 2nd fill yesterday.  Initially the band was prepped with 2CC at surgery (6/23), got my first fill on 7/20 with 2cc and yesterday, 2nd fill with an additional cc.  Now at 5cc. I have a large band (14cc) bc of the excess scar tissue from the Open RNY on 815/2002.

Curious to hear what others have, especially Bobsters?
Where can I expect the "sweet spot" to be?

I am at 218 today, down 28lbs in less than 2 mos. I am THRILLED with this, but, it is SLOW and I knew that going in.  I only lst 5lbs with the last fill, I've lost 2lbs since yesterday since I am on liquids.

Just wanting to get some feedback from others.

Thanks everyone for their advice and support. I was a "regular" here 2001-2003 and I so appreciate the support.

Hi Heather,
I don't have a large band, but just wanted to say I was told by my surgeon that we can't "compare" volume amounts in our bands, since our stomachs are all different sizes.  We just have to go by how long 3 oz of protein and a 1/4cup of a non starchy veggie will keep us from being hungry.  And that the sweet spot is constantly changing. When we lose weight  we lose fat around our stomach, so that's why we need another fill.  Also restriction varies on time of month, hydration level and time of day.
28 pounds in 2 months is a lot of weight!  I sure wouldn't call that slow.

you are losing a lot of weight quickly. i like what the other post says. especially about different volume sizes.
i have a 10 cc band, and my first fill was 3 cc's....then my surgeon increased it significantly to  9 cc's ....i'm pretty much at 9 cc's since April....
I find my band is tight depending upon weather, time of day, and how much i've lost.

It's as Kristi says, comparisons just don't work. We have different amounts of fat over our stomachs, beneath the band. So some people only need a small amount of tightening of the band, others need a lot. And even the basic amount of stomach tissue varies.

And please, please don't think 28lbs in 2 months is slow. It is incredibly fast. Bandsters just don't lose fast. 8lbs a month is good going, 14 is way above expectations. I know you will still have some malabsorption if you are BOB but even so, that's FAST.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Hi Heather;

I agree with the other posters on not comparing as we are all very different. However, I do understand the need to get perspective so here is my profile:

I was pre-filled with 5 cc in a 10cc band and had 2 more added last week. I am at a perfect restriction but still working on how to eat with the band (eat slow, small bites etc). Any problems I have had have been related to waiting too long to eat and being too hungry, eating too fast, and not chewing enough.
