Today's Loss and Gain

Got unfilled today but gained insight into how I will survive the temporary loss.  The staff and my family reassured me and gave me confidence.  I was reminded that the nutritionist is still available to me at no cost. My plans are to make the most of my unfilled state by getting back on track and working hard no only with food but with exercise.  Many of you have been filled and unfilled but this was very scarey for me.  Thanks for allowing me this whine.  There will be no cheese and the whining is over, too many calories.

Maybe whining burns calories? And I am sure tearing your hair out and beating your breast would! So go ahead! I know I would.

Very best wishes! You can do this! All your OH friends are cheering you on!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

Keep up the good attitude and you will do fine. Can't encourage you enough to excersise. It has so many benefits, just one being weight loss. Good luck!

Thank you for the positive reinforcement.  Exercise is definitely on the program.  Got up first thing this morning at 5:30 and did Body Electric.

Keep alot of healthy foods around in case you start getting the munchies or even the dreaded head hunger.  Its better to munch on fruit and veggies then reach for something else .

And exercise will be the key factor for you also .

You can do this .  What I did before my surgery before I got the band is I kept telling myself I refuse to go into surgery heavier then I was and I really watched myself.   Keep thinking thoughts like that also and that might help you it really helped me when I was wanting to eat all the time

Even though you dont have a fill in you keep a mental imagine in your thoughts that the band is around your stomach and you dont need to eat as much as you use to play head games with yourself that helps me also when I get into one of them I want to eat moods .

Good Luck !!

Thanks SF1.  Exercise has always been the key factor in weightloss for me.  It has been the key that has the most rust from lack of use in the last year or so.  I am committed and determined to work with my tool.  I still have it, just have to work it more.  For now its a push mower.

I really needed this feedback.  Old bandsters need encouragement too.
Thanks so much.

I know about the exercise .   It dont matter how little I eat, how healthy I eat, how much water I drink , if I dont exercise I just plain dont lose weight *sigh*.    It has always been that way for me no exercise no weight loss.

That gets frustrating at times to .   When I first had my surgery back in Nov 2010 in January I got gung ho and signed up for every Zumba class there was around and now I'm totally burnt out on exercise.

I love my Zumba still but I have been struggling big time the last month getting myself motivated to go to classes  and I know myself to well if I quit going then I wont go back for months and months . I will find every excuse in the book.

I think that is why I have been struggling with my weight loss also me not taking the time to do my Zumba like I use to do like 3 months ago .  And its really stupid on my part the guy that teaches my Zumba is a certified  trainer so its dumb on my part not to use that to my advantage .

You don't sound whiney at all. Losing restriction would be scary for all of us, but you can do this.

I don't know the story behind the unfill or how long you are expected to be unfilled, but as a former bandster who gained a bunch of my weight back while unfilled, I can give you lots of helpful tips on what not to do from first hand experience! lol

I would suggest keeping up your weighing practice (whatever it may be). Keeping in touch with the scale may help you notice if 2-3 lbs start to creep up before they become 10-20 lbs.

I'm sure by now you have figured out what type of diet suits you the best. Since my revision surgery, I've been doing a high protein, low carb lifestyle and I will say that it has worked wonders for me both weight-wise and cravings-wise. But again, I'm sure you have had plenty of time to realize if you are a carb-triggery person like me or not.

Keep in touch here...keeping your head in the game can only help.

You've already talked about how important exercise is and congrats on that early morning boost today! That is awesome.

It sounds like you've got all the tools and the know-how at your disposal and even though unfills are scary, you can totally do this.

Best of luck!
Lindsey

Thanks for the tips Lindsey.  You hit it on the head, high protein and exercise work for me too and carbs are not my friend either.
It really does help to be able to express myself and be understood.  The cause of my unfill (short version) is swelling.  They hope it will go away in about two to three months and so do I.

Really appreciate the support from the boards.  People outside our world do not understand as well.

Thank you all and I continue to pray that I use the tools at my disposal properly.
