I'm not sure if she has been very active on this board as she had been working on revising to a DS. Unfortunately news was up on the DS board that she passed this past weekend due to complications of her revision surgery.
Here's a link to the original posting on the DS board: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/ds/4438614/Stephanie-Capek -StephanieAZ/

Michelle, her story just breaks my heart.
Her story is a sobering reminder that WLS, and especially revisions, come with the potential for great risk. This will definitely affect my choices as I move forward with getting my band removed and revision surgery.
Do your research and listen to the stories of those who have gone before us.
So tragic to lose such a beautiful girl like this. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

I know . . . 26. I didn't even realize the value of the life at that age.
I'm reading her blog and her list of things she was looking forward to doing after she lost weight. It's hard not getting emotional, knowing she'll never get to do any of those things.
Never take life for granted. That's normally pretty hard to do, but days like today and stories like Stephanie's bring it front and center.

Michelle, thanks for posting this.
I didn't remember the name but her face seems familiar. What a tragedy. And a reminder to all of us that surgery, any surgery, is not to be taken lightly.
