Honestly, I don't do smoothies --- they don't tend to satisfy my hunger (and are just liquid calories to me).

I eat real food --- typically Greek Yogurt and fruit in the morning, then lean protein/veggies and starch for lunch and dinner.

I snack on cheese, crackers, pudding, fruit, nuts, etc.

The  band is really meant to work to dim our appetites when we eat solid food.

I wish I could help you also I dont do the smoothies either .  If you are going to drink them you really need to watch your calorie intake , and some of them can be sky high in carbs if you don****ch it :o)

Are you talking about fruit smoothies ? I am assuming that you are . I have been wanting to try that new McDonald's Mango and Pineapple one but if you go look at the NUT facts for it my eyes about popped out of my eye sockets

Just one of them has over 200 calories and 49 grams of carbs.  That is just about my carb limit for the day  and sugar is almost 50 grams.  I will wait till my son gets one and taste his , its not worth the carbs or the sugars for a whole one but a little sip wont hurt me lol.

You can really sock the calories on in a day if you drink to many of them let alone sugar and carbs.   To be honest with you them smoothies wont stick with you as long and then you will be eating on top of all them calories and carbs you just drank .

Just be very careful on this , it will and can stall your weight loss.

Smoothies are a Bandsters nightmare.  They go down too easy and remember your new pouch is like a funnel, the smoothies go right on down and are empty calories.  Stay away from any restaurant smoothies if you are going to do them at all though.  At least you can control the sugar if you do them yourself.

However now and then I will take greek yogurt and blend it with some frozen fruit in the blender.  I make it more of a slushy consistancy.  Sometimes this and a few bites of something else like chicken is a good lunch for me.   I dont' do it often though but only when I really need something sweet.

Are you just post- op? If not, why smoothies? I assume by that you mean all types of thick drinks? Fruit smoothies are slider foods with high calories and really not a bandster's friend.

Try theworldaccordingtoeggface.com she has some I think but she also has some yummy real food recipes too. I agree with the others that you should be trying to eat real food unless you are immediately post op.

Well most people are asking why smoothies. I am going to tell you why I have smoothies. My doc recommended every few months doing a few days of just liquids to keep a check on my pouch. Also, with me watching what I eat and breastfeeding a baby right now I HAVE to get the extra calories in a good way. This is one that I do that is really not to bad for you:

1 cup of light soymilk
a few teaspoons of jello pudding mix (sugar free fat free)
and 1/2 to 1 scoop of low car protein powder

I have done them in chocoate, vanillia, and cheesecake. They have less than 200 calories only 4 grams of fat and 30 grams of protein! The bonus is that they taste WONDERFUL. So many of the others that I have bought are terrible. If you are wanting a fruit smoothy here is another recipe:

1/2 cup of frozen berries
1 cup of soymilk
1/2 scoop of protein powder

These have about the same spects as the one above. Remeber, like many said if you are doing this you have to keep an eye on your calories and make sure that it is not putting you over. I love the chocolate or cheesecake smoothy as they make a great "treat" in the evening when I am craving something not healthy!
Most of the prepared smoothies that you buy are terrible for you.
