Is it time for a fill or ???

I am new to this forum and really glad to have found it, I sometimes have so many questions and am so unsure of this all.  I had Lap band on March 25th and am down 28 lbs...which is almost half way to my goal.

I have had 3 fills, my last one being June 20th and I am at either 5 cc or 5.2 I cant remember.  I havent lost much weight since then, only about 4-5 lbs and in the last week or so, I have noticed that I am hungry at night for the first time since my surgery and then in the last 2 days, I have eaten a lot more at lunch then what I was able to before.  I have kind of had the munchies too.

It  makes me so nervous that I might be stretching out my pouch and/or falling back into old habits.  I was actually afraid to get on the scale this morning.  I made an appointment for another fill, but due to my schedule I cant get in for another 3 weeks.

Does it sound like to those of you more seasoned Lapband folks, that I just need a tad more in my band or ???  Any suggestions would be great.

Lexie,

As you lose weight, the visceral fat clinging to your stomach shrinks, so the band doesn't fit around it as tightly, and you need a bit more fill to achieve optimal restriction and weight loss. So yes, I would get another fill.

It's good that you're aware that you might be falling back into old habits, because that can happen at any time, regardless of your fill level. Just keep an eye on it.

I agree with Jean...it might be time for a fill.  But I would also look at what you are eating.  Are you filling up with dense protein or food that will go through your pouch faster?  Are you measuring your food?  Since you have to wait 3 weeks for a fill I would get very strict with measuring out your portions and sticking to them.  I am supposed to eat 5 to 6 times a day and eat about 1/2 cup of food at a time - 75 - 80 % of that 1/2 cup needs to be dense protein.  I don't know what kind of a plan your surgeon has you on, but that has worked well for me.  Also if you can get in some extra workouts to compensate for eating a little more if you have to.

Good luck and congrats on paying attention to your body!
