Is this what restriction feels like?

I had my first fill yesterday and all day I was super hungry because I was on liquids. Today it is mushies. I just ate lunch of 1/2 cup of FF retried beans topped with 1/4 cup pureed salsa, some low fat cheese and some low fat sour cream. After about 3/4 of the serving I got my very first 'soft stop' sign - I sneezed out of the blue and my eyes were watery. I stopped eating, put the rest away and feel completely satisfied! I know my body is still adjusting to the fill, but I have never had this same satisfied feeling so far. I am pretty excited. I hope it stays this way!

That's it! But don't be disappointed if this changes, some people seem to get swelling from fills and when that goes, so does restriction.

For me, what I felt as soon as I returned to solids was exactly how it stayed until I had lost around 15 lbs and the fat under the band had shrunk back and so made it feel looser.

Hope you are like me! This is how it was for me from my very first fill.

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Hi Kate - I hope I am like you too!  We'll see how I go through the weekend. My partner had the exact same amount of fill the week before and hasn't felt any restriction, so I know he will have to go back in for more, but I am hoping this will hold me for a few weeks at least.

On a separate note - hope you are no where near the craziness in the UK!  I am supposed to travel to London in early Sept and although I am very familiar with the city and comfortable there, I am not really crazy about going if all this stuff is happening!  I know most of it has been in North London and I would be staying in the Paddington area.

We live about 40 miles from London and go in regularly. This craziness ( good word!) has been away from the Central areas. I am in London next weekend, staying overnight on the south bank, near the Old Vic Theatre near Waterloo, I haven't even considered not going.

It has been awful and incomprehensible. The original idea that it was linked to the shooting of a young man was totally incorrect. All observers say they were not protesters but simply criminals. The first two nights were bad but that was mainly because we have this dichotomy. We want a community based, unarmed police force and people get up in arms when police are seen to be over overstepping the Mark. But then something like this happens and the media start baying for blood.

Last night and the night before, the police were more visible and more assertive and last night there was virtually no trouble. There have been hundreds of arrests and communities have been queueing up to identify offenders. Even some parents have been handing in their children to the police. The courts have been working flat out. More people have been turning out to join others in cleaning up than took part in the riots in the first place. The communities these hoodlums came from have basically turned against them.

I am hopeful it is finished. It really was awful.

I lived in the U****il I was 14, then my parents emigrated to Canada (from Yorkshire). I go back 2-3 times a year and am always amazed at the British media. No-one can do right - they are always on the opposite side!

I don't have a firm travel date, but don't anticipate I will cancel. I always look forward to my trips for many reasons, not least of which is the chance to visit family on the comapny's dime. Interestingly my one cousin works in forensics analyzing video tape and isolating images for the police. I am sure she is workin 24 hours a day right now?

Stay safe!

Our quality press is good but our tabloids really are better described as the gutter press! But my pet hate is the Daily Mail. The other appalling papers are more like comics, all headlines, drama and gossip. The Daily Mail pretends to be intelligent but just spews out right wing dogma under the guise of fact and as you say, has to be against everything!
