Get it all out with B*TCHFest!

I have posted before about my dad and his partner, my stepmonster.

Well stepdaughter aged 13 was in hospital with appendicitis last week, it had burst inside her 2 days earlier. Her mom saw her vomiting and not eating/drinking for 4 days before taking her to the hospital. Emergency appendicectomy and 6 days of IV antibiotics later, she comes home to us (me and DH, her dad). I am annoyed with her mom for not taking her to the doctor sooner so maybe it wouldn't have burst and it would have just been a stay overnight after surgery, instead of a week in hospital.

Anyway, SD13 is at our place and Dad and stepmonster visit. Stepmonster sees that SD is wincing in pain when she walks. The doctors said it is typical and called 'appendicitis walk". Stepmonster says to me and SD "I had 9 operations. Yours is only keyhole. You shouldn't be walking like that". Talk about making a kid feel rotten and like she's milking it. Then yesterday SD goes back to hospital with temp of 104. Turns out the operated bowel area has an abscess so is leaking pus, and she has an inflamed area they can do nothing about, and she has fluid on her lungs. She is to stay in hospital another 7 days on IV antibiotics.

I hope stepmonster feels guilty about belittling SD's pain. I bet she doesn't though.

Family can be so irritating.  First, I don't understand why my husband feels the need to call me at work because he can't get the internet up and running at home.  What the hell can I do about it when I'm at work?  (I can get it up and running when I get home, usually has to do with the router.)

Second, my sister-in-law annoys me with her political emails that she sends people which put down Democrats.  I never once told anyone on my husband's side of the family that I was a Republican!
