Repair of my band on thursday

Finally after 3 years and 3 slips they are finally repairing my lap band. I'm curious to find out if they find anything when i go in.

I'm hoping this works because i'm pretty much at the end of my rope with dealing with this crap.

Wish you well. I am waiting to see what the doc says about my band. NP thinks it might be a bad slip. I should know by end of week.

Oh dang, 3 slips? Can you revise to the sleeve or something?

I had a bad slip and had surgery to fix it. It wasn't as easy for me to lose weight the second time around. I think it was a lot of mental attitude. When you FIRST get banded you are so ready to make the lifestyle changes required that you are much more compliant. Good luck, I hope that you do very well and recover nicely!!

melly i totally agree about the mindset. i feel beaten down and discouraged. I am however happy that after three years i am finally get this fixed. Ijust wish we figured out what was going on sooner

With all due respect, why are you staying with the band? With every slip, it increases the chance of another slip. And all those subsequent surgeries have to be causing adhesions to form. Has your surgeon discussed other options with you? I'd have been at the end of my rope, too!

Lap Band on 08/14/08

I have only had one surgery and that was to place my band. The band slipped back into place on it's own with each slip and no surgery was required to fix it. In my opinion i think a stitch was pulled out honestly and that is why my band won't stay in place. It seems like every time i have restriction it slips again.

I am staying with the band because if it works it is the best choice for me and the reason i choose it originally. Gastric is not something that I want nor is the sleeve.

Oh, I'm sorry I assumed you had corrective surgeries. I really hope that this helps on Thursday. I wish you the best and hope it all goes well.

surgery is cancelled due to a sinus infection. i'm so over this!!!
