So my pre-op appt is on Friday! I can't believe how fast this entire process has been! I went to see my surgeon in July and now I'm a month away from surgery!!!! I'm extremely excited to start this process and get healthy!
I know the experiences vary, but how long were you guys out of work? I've heard from 1 week up to 3 wks?
Have a great day my OH fam!!
Congrats on your surgery date :o) Time will fly fast and make sure you stock up for a week of stuff you will need .
Everybody is different on how they handle the pain after the surgery . You could be like me and not have any pain after surgery. I had no port pain, gas pains, or shoulder pain . Or you could be like some of the others that had quite a bit of pain it really depends on how well you do :o)
I dont work but my doc told me that if I sat at a desk and did nothing but sit there I could go back within a week if I felt like it, if I have a job that requires me to lift anything over 10 pounds then I had to sit out for six weeks . It all depends on what kind of job you have and what you have to do on that job :o)
Alot of people I know they had a desk job was back to work about 7-10 days after surgery :o)

Thanks
! I actually work at the hospital I'm having surgery in. I have a desk job but I'm always running around. I will probably not be able to do the cash boxes b/c those things are heavy. lol
Hopefully I'll be just like you and have no pain! Fingers crossed!

i just had my surgery on Aug. 1st, i stayed one night in the hospital came home tuesday, i was back at work on thursday doing very light work, i have a desk job as well. my co workers were very supportive and if at anytime i felt like a needed a little break i was able to do so but for the most part i was good. I dont do any lifting though just sitting at a desk working on a computer.
good luck!
ps i didnt have any pain in my incisions or port but i did have a little bit of neck pain for the position i was in during surgery but it has since gone away.
