I had 9.25mls in an 11ml band and had felt like i had lost a lot of restriction last thursday my nurse gave me a fill of 0.5ml taking my band to 9.75ml i have been on liquids for 3 days which i was struggling to consume although drinking has become easier now i went onto the soft stage yesterday and i feel like i'm struggling i had yesterday half a poached egg and a small amount of yoghurt i'm not hungray at all but i have vomited a few times i can feel everything going down sometimes it hurts and i feel like i have to wait forever between bites; i dont know what to do whether to wait to see if it wares off by the weekend as all of my other fills have it has been difficult also as i have been working nights sat and sun but i'm back on days this week and no one at work knows i have the band and i'm worried people may start noticing things and i don't want my energy levels to drop as they have in the past.
Any advice would be appreciated xxxx
On the plus side i've had a great weightloss the boost i needed as i had been the same weight for around two months!!!

Hi Linzi,

I dont have fills but my doc has always told us in support anytime you vomit or have any trouble eating he wants us to call ASAP to come in and see him for a slight unfill.

he said you should never ever have problems eating, hurt to eat, or vomit trying to eat .

I would call the doc and see what he / she says and go from there. Its always better to be a little loose then to tight , the end results of being to tight is not worth it in the long run .

Good Luck hope it gets better for you :o)

You are not taking huge bites or eating to fast are you ? that sometimes makes you sick but you should not have any pain eating that is not good .

Sounds like you're too tight.  In my experience waiting it out doesn't help, it usually gets worse because it can take days for a fill to take full effect.  Even removing .25 can make a big difference.  You'll still have more than before but you're clearly too tight if you're regurgitating.

Take care, it's not worth it.  Trust me, been there, done that!

It sounds to me like you're too tight. It takes days or even weeks for a fill to settle in, just like Lisa O. says. You should call and get a slight unfill. The worst thing you can do with a band is be overfilled - that's what leads to complications down the road. Better less full than more.

I agree.  You are too tight and need to have at least a tiny unfill so that you don't end up with reflux or other damage.
