No H-Pylori -- proceeding cautiously

So the biopsy results came in and I do not have H-Pylori

I went to see my bariatric surgeon today -- with the pictures from my EGD last week.

He looked over the pics and asked me to wait while he called the Gastroenterologist and got him on the phone to go over his report.

He said that the ulcers are below my band -- and pose no risk if they are not symptomatic -- the Dexilant will help with them.

Since I am having no symptoms from the reflux right now, he suggested that I 'give it another week' with the acid-reducer -- and if I want a small unfill -- come back and he will take care of it.

He explained that our sinus and gastric fluids 'take the path of least resistance' -- and try to run down into our stomachs quickly -- if we are just a little too tight, they can linger above the band and cause the esphogitis --- so even a small unfill can help to resolve that.

I have not had the referred pain in 6 days -- and the mid-chest pain is happening maybe once a day now (it was almost constant a week ago).

I think that the combination of the Dexliant and my strong focus on eating tiny bites, chewed slowly and swallowed thoroughly before the next bite is working to make me feel bette.

I appreciate all of the good wishes I got here!!   Thank you!
Kath

Well, I hope that you are feeling better soon!! Glad it doesn't seem to be band related, but I am sure the band can make something worse, so just be careful!

Glad to hear your good news, and that you are feeling better.  That was very scary for you.

I'm so happy that you got at least some partially good news!  It sounds like we are at about the same place...again.  The acid reducers will work, so hang in there.

Take care,
