I am tired all the time suffer from musle cramps and bone pain and even get dizzy ALOT. Pls note I do have low blood pressure that was low even BEFORE surgery. Also my A/G ratio was 1.1 if that means anything which results should be 1.5 to 3.0  Any advice?:

30 and above used to be normal, now it is 15. It hides in fat and is lower in darker skinned people. I personally think it is a scam, but am taking extra vit D and calcium to please my doctor. I don't know about your symptoms, I don't have any, but follow up with your pcp is always the best thing

I went and saw my surgeon in the spring and had my labs done, when the results came in my levels were about 16, I was told that normal was 30 to 70,  I started taking vitamin d, still hasn't gone above 16.  I have another appt for labs in Sept and if the levels haven't risen I have to get shots to raise them.  My symptoms were overwhelming tiredness, so much so that I would fall asleep when driving.  I had dizziness for over a year, but that was related to a chronic sinus infection I didnt know that I had.  Not sure if this is of any help but thought I would share it.

I bumped my VIT D 3 from 16 - 67 by supplementing with 10,000 IU per day for several months.

My low Vit D was causing my Intact PTH to be high --- and that messes with calcium absorption ---   by supplementing my Vit D3 I took the levels of my
IPTH, my Vit D3 and my Calcium all into normal range

I feel better, too

My blood pressure issues seem to have resolved (I went from border-line high before surgery to 'dizzy all the time low' after I lost about 100 pounds).

Now that I have maintained a stable weight for about 6 months, I have few dizzy episodes - mostly related to standing too quickly

Low vitamin D can cause many symptoms. People who are over weight do not absorb vitamin D from the sun. It stays in fat cells. Mine was very low and I had to take 100,000 units 2x's a week to get mine to a level of 50. When I get stressed, like working full time and trying to attend college, makes my level go down.

I got my level up and went off of it and had to get back in 50,000 units per week. I was tired ALL of the time and seemed to just not be "well". It made a huge impact when I started taking the presciption vitamin D. My weight goes up and I retain fluid when mine gets low.

My endocrynologist checked my thyroid levels and that is how they found the vitamin D.
It is not something that doctors do not know a lot about. From my experience it just makes you feel really bad. I describe it as a different kind of tired if that makes any sense?
I hope this info helps.
