Im just about to start my 5th week banded.
Im ALSO just returning to work tomorrow for the first time since surgery. (july 6th)

I had a complicatin after surgery (blood clots in my lungs) So i was forced to be out another 2 weeks longer than i had expected.

So... im now able to start eating "regular" foods (soft foods)
Ive got to get into a routine and honestly, im nervous as to what i can eat.

Basically....im freaking out a bit about going back to work and eating the right foods.

Id love it anyone could post so easy soft foods that would be good for my first week back to work.

THANKS!!!

I ate a lot of cottage cheese and applesauce when I was on soft foods. You could bring refried beans if you have access to a microwave. Keep doing some protien shakes to be sure your getting in enough protien. Hope your first week back at work goes well.

Hi Andie,

I was banded just the week before you were, but went back to work the follwing week. To be honest with you, the days I struggled the most were the days in which I did not have a plan. I packed six 4 ounce options with the intent of eating every two hours (per my NUT instructions). I drank 1 ounce of Isopure every 15 minutes, or 2 ounces every 3o minutes and took the following things:

Greek Yogurt
Cottage Cheese
Egg Whites with low fat cheese
Taco Meat (Made with ground turkey)
Refried Beans with Laughing Cow wedge melted in
Pure Protein bars
Roll-ups made with low sodium lunch meat & low fat soft cheese (Havarti is my favorite)
Sugar Free Pudding

Going back to work is difficult, but keep things simple and pack you lunch the night before.

Good Luck, I am sure you will do great.

Thanks.

I guess im just stressing about going out into the "Real World" for the first time. The past few weeks, ive been home, so i havent had to worry about planning etc.

Pre Op i planned the night before. EVERY DAY! Its the only way i would ever get to eat. ha..

But.. ive made my plan for tomorrow and it includes:

B: cottage cheese/ diced apples (no skin)

S: muscle milk Shake

L: 2 ff ham and cheese roll ups/ 1 ff turkey roll up.
3 tomato slices w mozzarella cheese and lite balsamic vinagrette.
hummus/ carrots (if needed)

S pumpkin spice protein shake

D:... Ok.. so ive got to figure that out, but at least i can do it after work!

Thanks for the list above.
