Burping like Booger...

They did a hernia repair on me when they placed my port.  This is fairly common, the Dr. said about 90% of her patients need one when she goes in.  No biggie.  And the loss of the acid reflux has been awesome!!!

For about a month after the surgery, I couldn't burp AT ALL.

Now, I think I have a pressure valve.  Lol.  Once I started burping again, they were looooong.  No more lady burps for me.  *eyeroll*  Now it's a bathroom break.  I don't burp at all until the pressure gets to much, it just ALL comes out...  I could compete against Booger in Revenge of the Nerds.  My 6yr old gets a kick out of it.  We have burping contests.  I win.

Anyone else have this problem...??

I burp more than I used to.  I'm not sure why, but I think trapped gasses/air in a smaller stomach may have something to do with it.  It's just a guess though.

Wouldn't the air go down into the bottom half, as well??  I mean, it's just air...  How would it still be confined to the upper pouch??  Just curious...

Oh, it would, but maybe since it is force to go through such a small opening, (btwn your large and small stomach...)  It's a good question for your Doctor though!

Interesting!

Would I be judged if I admit I love that movie!!! Hahahaha!!!

My daughter who is skinny (5'7" and 120 lbs) burps like that.  She has always been a loud burper.  Unlike most mom's that would yell at their kid for this...I laugh...I'm terrible.  She says she can't help it.  She says if she tries to hold it in it hurts.  So I say let it out and be comfy!!!

Oh yeah, I can belch with my 3 10 year old grandsons and win. I am not as bad as I was for the first few months because last summer you would find me wandering around my garden ripping big ones. I was afraid the neighbors would complain, lol. I could really fart, too. My husband still refers to me as his "delicate flower". As I said, I am much better now and can keep them small, but when I choose I can let 'em go with the best.

Please ask your health-care provider.

Excess burping was one sign that I have been ignoring -- and I was just diagnosed with
1.  hiatal hernia recurrance
2.  Ulcers
3.  Grade D Reflux Esophagitis

Well, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who noticed this kind of a change.  Lol.  If it's one of the worst things I have to deal with, I'm good with that.  :)

Yes, back in the day it would def have impressed my boyfriends.  Lol.  I had one ask me to marry him the first time I let a real one rip.  He was charmed, for sure.  Wonder what he'd have to say now!!

It's funny but I have also noticed it's gotten a little easier to control.  If I contract my diaphram I can push the air out.  If I try to stop it though, it still kinda hurts so I just don't.

Thanks for all the responses!!  And yes, I loved that movie too!!  matter of fact,t hinking about Booger again, I had to go onto Netflix and watch it the other day.  Lol
