"People with bands can never eat good good food again"
That is funny! I can eat almost anything I CHOOSE to eat. I went to Texas Roadhouse the other night with the family. I ate a small part of my salad, a couple bites of the roll, about 1/4 of my smothered chicken, and a few bites of mashed potatoes. I believe that sounds pretty well-rounded. I ate that with no problems. I ate ALOT less of it. This was my meal I always got prior to surgery. However, before surgery I ate three rolls, all of my salad, all of my chicken and mashed potatoes, and usually alot of the fried onion blossom too. I have NEVER felt deprived with my band. I can still eat any foods I want. I usually just CHOOSE not to though. I love my band!
When we go to Red Lobster I eat Cheddar Bay Biscuits yum yum lol.. lobster, shrimp, or crab meat.
I can eat anything I want also with no problems and I do but I just eat smaller amounts and dont eat the bad foods all the time like I use to .
I had supreme pizza last night when we was out on the boat .
Like Christi said I choose the foods I want to eat , Im alot more picky now days then I use to be and it drives my hubby crazy sometimes lmao but he is getting use to it and he loves eating my leftovers anyways :o)

Thanks, I loved the truth. I see by doctor every month and he always says the same things to me. No, pasta, rice/ bread. No sugar, no snacks. eat 3 meals on 9 inch plates. I tell him the truth what I have and he doesn't encourage me at all. I lost 50 lbs in 7 mos. and I excercise vey little not by choice, but cause of my spine in a cage. I'm pretty happy with my progress and as you stated, I had WLS not to stay on diet food the rest of my life, but to be realistic and eat the right amounts to continue weight lost and enjoy most food that works for me at this time of my journey..People like to hear the truth. thanks again...
Spuddzy ,
You are doing really good especially since you cant exercise :o) . I dont agree with doctors telling their patients that they cant eat bread, rice, or pasta, I feel that is wrong IMO. If you cant because of fills that is a different story but if you can I think people should eat them if they want them.
Eating those foods isn't what got us fat . Eating a whole loaf of hot buttered bread is what got us fat instead of eating a normal one slice piece. Eating bowls and bowls of pasta is what got us fat . We should have been eating 1/2 of cup of pasta which is normally the serving . Same as rice.
Eating any food in moderation is okay and people need to learn that if they want to be successful IMO.
Like I said I eat a Cheddar Bay Biscuit when I go to Red Lobster eating that one biscuit isn't going to make me gain my weight back or what I have lost for the week, but sitting down and eating those biscuits like a pig will put the weight back on me that I lost for the week.
Eating foods in moderation is the key to weight loss .
