dilated pouch question
I wonder if you don't have a prolapse?
MsCalculator is right... there shouldn't be a pouch. The top portion of your stomach may have stretched from the band being too tight and caused it to kind of "flop" and droop over the band. When this happens, the esophagus is usually affected, too, because the food tends to get caught in the top portion of the stomach and then it makes the esophagus work harder.
Yours might look like this:

Ahhh... Understood. :) I'll have to keep an eye out for that problem myself. Will the skin (or whatever it is) re-tighten above the band as the food starts passing through like it's supposed to?? Or will it always remain dilated??
I hope your problems resolve. :) Best of luck to you in the coming months. :)

Revision on 08/27/15
I'm in the same situation. I found out the hard way what the dangers are of using a surgeon that doesn't use a fluoroscope. My NEW surgeon has recommended that I revise to a sleeve, though, since I was already interested in doing that. He said that my band was so tight that there was an opening the size of a pencil eraser and that I was EXTREMELY dilated/stretched. It was very interesting to see the barium just sitting there above the band when I drank it, though. I had definitely developed a "pouch." He said he was shocked that I'd been able to live with it like that for so long (2 1/2 years since I last saw my original surgeon, due to moving across the country). I got an immediate complete unfill, of course, and we're going to see if insurance will pay for revising to a sleeve. If not, the band will be repositioned.
